Please note that this measurement is taken at the hinge's part that attaches to the frame and not the sash. The actual hinge length could be shorter or longer depending on how your windows were made in the past. When choosing the width of your hinge, most windows made of upvc will have a 13mm stack height. However, should your window frame have 17mm then choose the option for this. Alternately, you can install the 4mm packer to make up for the difference. Standard Hinge
Standard hinges have metal-to-metal contacts and do not require any extra parts to reduce friction. It is available in a variety of finishes and also has an NFPA-certified fire rating. To quickly determine the radius of a hinge, lay it out flat and place a quarter and dime in two corners. If the dime is more snug and the corner is round by 1/4 inch.
